Katharine A. Guinta-Spence, 40 of Valley Springs, died Sunday, March 1 at Doctors Hospital, Manteca.
She was born in Modesto on Jan. 10, 1969.
Mrs. Guinta-Spence was a graduate of East Union High School in Manteca, Columbia Junior College and Sonoma State University. She was a teacher for Head Start in Calaveras County. She loved working with children; they were drawn to her and adored her.
She was a member of Burson Full Gospel Church in Burson. She enjoyed reading, attending to her animals, gardening, and NASCAR. She was an exceptional person; her kind heart and sweet spirit made her a friend to all.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Spence of Valley Springs; son, Joseph "Joey" Guinta of Valley Springs; stepdaughter, Ashley Spence of Manteca; siblings, John Guinta of Riverbank, Andrea Leik of Tehachapi, and Audra Coburn of Manteca; father, Frank Guinta of Manteca; mother, Julie Boos of Riverbank; stepmother, Shari Guinta of Scotts Valley; stepfather, John Doornewaard of Manteca; grandparents, Reverend Don and Ramona Annas of Scotts Valley.
A celebration of life service was held March 8 at Chez Shari at the Manteca Golf Clubhouse. Final resting place was private.
