   Lila Mae Moore died Sunday, Feb. 15, at English Oaks Nursing Home in Modesto, surrounded by her family. She was 90.

   Lila was born in Girdner, Mo., the 8th of 10 children, to John and Goldie Irby. She moved with her family to Rocky Ford Colorado when she was 1 year old. In 1938, the Irby’s moved to Woodland, Ca. After graduating from High School, Lila went to Pasadena College. She met Eugene(Gene) A. Moore there, and they married in 1943, right after Gene was drafted into the Army. After, the war, they moved back to Woodland, CA.

   Lila and Gene and their 2 children moved to Riverbank in 1951. Lila was involved in PTA and several woman’s clubs. She worked at Peggy’s Dress Shop in Modesto. Gene worked at Sears. In 1970, Gene was transferred to Ventura, CA and Lila worked at Scotts Apparel for 20 years. They moved back to Riverbank in 1999 after they both retired.   Lila loved to garden. In Ventura she grew orchids, plumeria, and other exotic plants. In Riverbank she loved her Dogwood trees and roses, and grew lots of tomatoes every summer. She belonged to the Modesto Garden Club, and the Riverbank Historical Society. She leaves her daughter Connie Lilly and husband Warren, her son Steve and wife Mary Lee, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.

   Viewing, was held Sunday, Feb. 22nd 4-8pm. Services Monday, Feb. 23rd at 1:00pm at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel. Enternment to follow Service at Lakewood Memorial Park. Hughson.
