Lucy Nadyne Parsons, 87, died Friday, Jan. 2 in Sonora.

She was born in Warrensburg, MO to Loy McMurphy and Minerva Lynde.

She married her husband Eugene Francis Parsons in 1938 and they had two sons. Her husband was killed in an auto accident in 1951.

She married John Forest Scott in 1954 and they moved to California in 1956, traveling the state, packing fruit for three years. They divorced in 1976.

She worked for Oak Valley rest home from 1973-1975, and for Hershey's Oakdale from 1976 and retired in 1986.

She is survived by her son, Edward Eugene (Jo Ann) Parsons of Sonora; grandchildren, John (Carol) of Winton, Tamara Lumley of Sonora, Kim (Juan) Sebastian of Fresno, Sheila (Derwin) Yee of Riverbank, Shelly (Robert) Knippel of Glenco, Marie (Shannon) Benedix; great-grandchildren, Terry Johnson II, Brandon Johnson, Steven Harrington, Jasmon Ruffin, Anthony Sebastian, Derick Carrasco, Ashton Carrasco, Maxwell Kernan, Timothy Benedix, Jessica Benedix, Veronica Parsons, Edward Raymond Parsons, Tiffany Parsons; and four great-great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Minerva McMurphy; husband, Francis Parsons; son, Raymond Albert; and great-grandson, John Parsons, Jr.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan 10 at Terzich & Wilson Funeral Home, Sonora. Cremation has taken place and she will be buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, MO next to her late husband, Francis Parsons.
