Margot Luise Stanley, Margo, as she was known by her friends, was born June 25, 1933 to Josef and Auguste Vogel of Ludwigshafen on the Rhein, Germany. She entered into rest on June 16, 2025 at Samaritan Village in Hughson, CA.
After having survived World War II Margot met an American G.I. named Clarence Stanley, who would win her heart and later become her husband sharing together almost 50 years of marriage until his passing. She became a United States citizen in 1959 and was very proud of her new home and country. As long as Margot’s parents were alive, she visited them every year at Christmas time. She and her husband eventually settled in Oakdale nearly 61 years ago close to her best friend since the eighth grade, Lilo Hall. The two were an inseparable pair who worked, played, laughed and loved together from childhood until the very end. Margot was a lover of hummingbirds and sunflowers. She also loved family gatherings and BBQ’s, and looked forward every year for her much-anticipated visits from Klaus (brother).
Margot is survived by her brother Klaus Vogel (Karen) of Germany.
She is also survived by her USA family which includes her niece Brenda Crause (grandniece Rhonda Rivera) of Waterford, nephews and nieces Charles Burch (Sharon) of Sonora, Larry Burch (Adell) of Oakdale, Kenneth Burch, (Lynda) of Idaho, Kathy Burch of Valley Home and other grandnieces and grandnephews.
She will be laid to rest at the veteran’s cemetery in Santa Nella alongside her husband.
