Mary Trina Medrano was born on February 6, 1941, in Escalon, CA. After a hard-fought battle with stomach cancer, she passed away on November 22, 2023 in her home in Riverbank, CA surrounded by loved ones. She was the treasured daughter of Abelardo and Maria Medrano. Her siblings preceding her in death are Cesario Estrada, Magdalena Flores, Albert Estrada, Ernie Medrano, Lupe Ortiz, Steven Medrano, and Henry Medrano. She is survived by her siblings Phyllis Perez, Chencho Medrano and Rosa Medrano. Trina attended Cardozo Elementary and graduated from Oakdale High School in 1959 before attending San Jose State.

Trina retired from the Canning Industry after more than 55 years. She also worked seasonal jobs at Riverbank Laundry, as a housekeeper at convalescent homes in Oakdale and Modesto and as a Teachers Aide for Riverbank Schools.

She enjoyed being entertained by the Irish performer Daniel O’Donnell’s television show every Saturday evening and 3 a.m. Thursday mornings, as well as family trips to Costco, and lunches with her friends. After retirement, Trina continued to fill her role as a loving mother to her three daughters Mary Frances Nunez Westwater, Irene Nunez, and Lisa Vasquez Alba, and as an adorable grandma to her four grandchildren Zoe Westwater, Forrest Westwater, Nathan Casillas Alba, and Marissa Casillas. Her immense love for her family extended to countless others as well. Her memory will live on through all the lives she touched; she will be missed greatly by many.

Services for Mary Trina Medrano Vasquez will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Riverbank Memorial Chapel, 3131 Sante Fe Riverbank, CA 95367. Visitation is from 4-5 p.m., Rosary 5-6 p.m., Speakers 6-6:30 p.m. to be completed by 7 p.m. Graveside service is on Wednesday December 6, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, 701 East J St., Oakdale CA 95361. Reception luncheon is to follow at Oakdale Event Center, 335 N. Eighth Ave., Oakdale.
