Olive Christina Davis passed away Nov. 26, 2020 at 102 years old. She was born in Etna, California on July 23, 1918 to Lawrence and Sadie Buchner. Olive married James Davis in March 1942 as a Navy bride during WWII. After living and working in the Sierras for several years, they moved to Oakdale in 1951 where Olive lived until 2014.
Olive worked for the Oakdale School District for 24 years as a cafeteria cook. She enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Aspen Valley, as well as traveling, line dancing in a senior group and working on her numerous crafts. She was a hard worker, always had a positive attitude, a zest for life and a smile on her face.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Native Daughters of the Golden West and involved with many service organizations: Camp Fire Girls, Rainbow for Girls, Order of Eastern Star and Grandmothers Club.
She is survived by her daughters Judy Davis of Modesto, Esther “Cookie” McGuire of El Paso, Texas and Barbara Boyd of Manteca, five grandchildren and two great granddaughters.
Remembrances can be made to the Shrine Hospital in Sacramento. No services planned at this time.
