Richard Lee Paslay passed peacefully in his home in Oakdale, California on November 30, 2025.

Richard was born on June 13, 1933, in Santa Monica, California, to his parents Marion and Wanda Paslay. He moved to Hayward, California in 1941, where he attended elementary school and high school. He married his wife Lois LaDean Paslay in 1955. He served in the United States Air Force in 1951-1958.

Richard surrendered to the gospel ministry in 1966 and attended seminary at CMBI in Bellflower, California. Richard was known for his love for sharing the gospel wherever he went. He pastored three churches in his lifetime in Norco, California; Oakdale, California; and Freedom, California.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Marion and Wanda Paslay, his brother Raymond Paslay, and son-in-love David Keeling. He is survived by his wife Lois LaDean Paslay and children Karen Fields, Sheri Venema, son-in-love Cecil Venema and Lisa Keeling. Richard was blessed with five grandchildren, Jeremy Fields, Melissa Snyder and husband Teddy Snyder, Mallory Isang and husband Moses Isang, Jared Keeling and Lauren Fields, and five great-grandchildren, Bode Snyder, Beckham Snyder, Holland Snyder, Ikeme Isang and Etiene Isang.

A private family burial was held on December 15, 2025, and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11 a.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church of Oakdale, 1141 Walnut Street, Oakdale, California.
