Richard H. Troth, age 86, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025. Born on January 28, 1939, Richard was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather who touched the lives of all who knew him with his gentle spirit and kind heart.

In 1997, Richard married Maria Lopez, and together they shared many cherished years. Their bond was built on love, respect, and mutual care, and Richard’s unwavering devotion to Maria was evident in every moment they spent together.

Richard was a proud veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent 45 years working at the Hunts Cannery, where he made lasting friendships. He enjoyed wood working, reading, going camping, fishing and enjoying time with his family.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Richard remember him as a sweet, gentle soul. His warmth and compassion knew no bounds, and he was loved by so many. Richard’s quiet strength and easygoing nature made him a pillar in his family, community, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Troth, his daughters Argie Reyes and Cristina Cano. Grandchildren Alex and Sophia Reyes, sister Kathy Whitman and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Richard is preceded in death by grandson Christian Garcia-Ruiz, brother Dan Troth and parents Dana and Margaret Troth.

Visitation will be at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 830 West F Street, Thursday, May 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a vigil at 5:30 p.m. There will be Mass on Friday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 89 North Oak Avenue, Oakdale, with burial at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery, 701 East J Street, Oakdale, immediately after.
