It is with great sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Harold Densmore announces his passing on September 21, 2021 at the age of 100. Bob was born on September 2, 1921 in Los Angeles, CA. Bob grew up in the Southern California area. It was here that Bob met his future wife, Imogene Porterfield. They were high school sweethearts and married shortly after graduating from high school.
Imogene passed away on November 16, 2018, two weeks before their 78th wedding anniversary. Bob is survived by his daughter Barbara Vasko and family; son John Densmore and family; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Bob served in WWII as a B17 bomber pilot. He successfully completed 35 bombing missions over Germany and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Airman’s Medal with five clusters.
Upon returning from the war, Bob continued his career as a draftsman and became a mechanical engineer designing processing equipment for oil refineries.
Bob lived a full life and was admired and respected by all who knew him. If one looked up the word “integrity” in the dictionary, the definition would be “Robert Harold Densmore”.
He will be missed and will leave a void in many hearts.
A memorial will be held for Bob in the spring when he and Imogene will be put to rest together for eternity at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine, CA.
Those who so desire can make a donation in the memory of Bob to Pacific Project Heroes, 176 Bryan Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361.
