Robert J. A. Yuskaitis (Bob) died in Oakdale, CA on April 15, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada to William and Bernice (Labelle) Yuskaitis. He had an older sister, Joan (Verhaegen) and younger brother, Richard.

Bob attended St Joseph’s Teacher’s College in Montreal after which he taught both in a Catholic elementary and high school for 19 years in the city of Montreal.

Bob married Monica Landward of Oakdale, CA in 1972 and shortly thereafter had two daughters, Michele (Lindsay) and Angela (Christensen).

In 1976, Bob and his family moved back to Oakdale, CA where he took ownership with his wife of Landward’s Stationery and Gifts on Yosemite in Oakdale. Later he became the co-owner of Computer Tutor and Advantage Tutoring and helped many students catch up in their studies.

His favorite hobby was playing the organ. He could play nearly 50 different songs and hymns by ear. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held several positions over the years, but his favorite was working in the Oakland Temple as an ordinance worker.

Bob was preceded in death by grandson Samuel Christensen, son of Angie and Brian Christensen and is survived by wife, Monica (Landward), brother Richard Yuskaitis (wife Bonnie), sister Joan Verhaegen, daughters Angela Christensen (husband Brian), and Michele Lindsay (husband Stan) and five grandchildren.

A Memorial in his honor will be held Saturday, June 22 at 1 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1111 A Street, Oakdale, CA. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Hospice, 5380 Perrone Road, Suite 301A, Salida, CA.
