RONALD WAYNE PINI obit

Ronald Wayne Pini, of Wilburton, Oklahoma, age 77, began his presence with the Lord on April 7, 2025 in Oklahoma City.

The family greeted friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025 at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel with Bain Durant officiating. The burial followed at Damon Cemetery, Damon Valley Community, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Blaine Bairos, Joshua Snow, Morgan Bairos, Josh Gish, Andrew Hardman, and Clint Crane.

Ron was born on August 2, 1947 in Quincy, California to Joseph Pini and Virginia (Vorhies) Pini. He married Wilma “Jody” Mullins on November 4, 1989 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Ron was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who did not differentiate between children and bonus children, whose favorite past time was watching his family thrive. One of his enjoyments was watching the cow parade each day as his little herd passed the back window. From his childhood, as an only child, he would tell stories of he and his mom’s road trips from California to Colorado to visit grandparents and other family members, from spending time with his Uncle Chuck throwing balls to listening to his uncle play the saxophone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when needed, never expecting return, which was a testament to his character.

Ron owned and operated R & S Pini Trucking for many years, also serving on the Riverbank Volunteer Fire Department as a Lt. for nine years. While being a member of the Backcountry Horsemen of California, he enjoyed countless adventures from riding in the Sierra’s to participating in Dutch Oven cooking, etc., enjoying quality time with friends.

In 2005 both Ron and the love of his life moved to Wilburton as both his mom and mother-in-law had health issues … he enjoyed the peacefulness of this slow, rural area and settled in to live life.

The relationship with his Lord gave him strength to carry on, having lost both his children. One of Ron’s favorite sayings was “the good Lord will take care of it.” While he will be missed dearly, the impact he made on those who knew and loved him will help him to live on in our cherished memories.

Ron is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jody Pini; daughters: Brandi Hardman (Bill), Carrie Bairos (John) and Sheli Gish-Smith; grandchildren: Joshua Gish (Ursula), Ciara Wendling (Joe), Cayla Villanueva (Jonathan), Karlie Crane (Clint), Blaine Bairos (Shelbi), Joshua Snow, Morgan Bairos (Riley), Andrew Hardman, Bailey Hardman, Preston Smith (Nicole), Cody Smith (Chloe); great grandchildren: Trace Crane, Tyce Crane, Samantha Gish, Airein Gish, Urijah Gish, Legend Smith, Jonathan Smith, Liam Smith, Louis Villanueva, Lorenzo Villanueva, baby boy arriving May ’25; brother-in-law, Steve Mullins; sister-in-law, Johnnie Griffin; step-brother, Danny Colwell (Carol); and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Ron is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Pini; mother, Virginia Colwell; step-dad, Dell Colwell; daughter, Ronelle; and son, Shane Pini.
