Sherman Burney Smith, 85, of Riverbank died Saturday, Aug. 7 at his home.
Born in Riverbank, he had lived in the area his entire life. He was a retired custodian, serving with the Modesto City Schools for 30 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Modesto and was an Army veteran of WWII. He enjoyed traveling, camping and hiking.
Survivors include his wife, Doris R. Smith of Riverbank; two sons, Garry Smith of Mariposa and Terry Smith of Riverbank; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No visitation.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, Hughson.
