Shirley M. Butler 89, of Oakdale, CA passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2022 at her Oakdale residence with her family by her side.
Shirley was born Oct. 5, 1932 in Sheboygan, WI to the late John P. and Catherine M. Renzelmann.
Shirley was a life-long homemaker. She served in religious education, was a member of the Legion of Mary and in the YLI for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling and camping. Above all, her family was most important to her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Shirley is survived by her son Steve (Kimberly) Butler, daughter Cheryl (Butler) Moorehead, daughter-in-law Cheri Butler, six grandchildren, Matthew Rivinius, Michael Butler, Janay Rivinius, John Butler, Molly Smith, Kelsie Bergstrom, and six great-grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hyram (Kenny) Butler, son Kenny Butler, daughter Sharlene Rivinius, grandson Andrew Rivinius, and 10 siblings.
Visitation will be March 7, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; rosary to follow at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel in Oakdale, CA. Funeral services will be March 8, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Olive Street in Oakdale, CA. Followed by burial at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Highway 120 in Escalon, CA. A reception will follow at the St. Mary’s Parish Center located in Oakdale.
