Sibyl Kathleen Haynes, 100, died Monday, Aug. 26.

She was born in Oklahoma to Ross and Ella Houx. She was a resident of Stanislaus County for 67 years. She was a resident of Oakdale since 1956.

Mrs. Haynes worked at Escalon Packers for 35 years.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oakdale for 53 years. She attended the “Young at Heart” exercise group at the Oakdale Senior Center for several years. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of Riverbank for 47 years.

She was greatly loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Betty Schweiker, Nancy Leighton, both of Hughson, Judy Emerson of Oakdale; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Austin Haynes; seven brothers; and four sisters.
