Stan Panero, 67, died Monday, Oct. 31 with his family by his side.

He was raised in Oakdale and resided in Riverbank his entire adult life.

He felt fortunate to have worked alongside his father in the grocery business for many years in his youth, later working at Raley's and retiring in 1999.

Mr. Panero's passion was his family, the Boston Celtics, fishing, and the outdoors. His retirement years afforded him many trips with his special fishing buddies in search of the next big catch. He was a skilled and avid bass fisherman and won many tournaments.

He also enjoyed a monthly poker night with his card-playing cronies. He was blessed to have many loyal friends that kept in touch, even those from his high school days.

He appreciated life and realized each morning was a gift. His family thanks all those who prayed and supported them through this difficult time.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Adrina; son, Vince (Christina); sister, Toni (Jack) Highfill of Bakersfield; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Alice Panero.

Per his wishes, there will be no services.

Remembrances may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
