Steven James Roche, affectionately known as “Big Steve”, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 48. Born on June 13, 1976, Steve was a dependable, loyal man who lived with heart and purpose.
He began his career as a millwright before becoming an electrician – a trade he took pride in working alongside his cousin. Steve helped build a successful family-run electrical business from the ground up. Known for his reliability and work ethic, he was respected for always showing up and doing the job right.
Big Steve didn’t just work hard – he lived hard, laughed loud, and loved fiercely. Whether he was lending a hand without hesitation, tearing across the dunes on his quad, or manning the fire with a cold drink and a story, Steve brought people together. He was the heart of the camp; first to show up, last to leave, the kind of man who always had your back.
He is survived by his loving parents, Marsha and William Roche.
A service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, California with a celebration of life to follow. Friends and loved ones are invited to attend and share memories.
Steve leaves behind a legacy of generosity, loyalty, and grit.
Ride on, Big Steve – your fire will never go out.
