Steven Michael McAllister, 67, of Copperopolis, California, passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 24, 2025.
Born on March 31, 1958, Steven grew up in Oakdale, where he formed lifelong friendships through sports. He graduated from Oakdale High School in 1976 and played football at San Joaquin Delta Junior College before coaching at St. Mary’s High School and attending Cal State Hayward.
In 1982, he began a 20-year career with IBM as a software engineer, traveling the world to support global sales teams and earning several awards. He later worked as a consultant for clients throughout Northern California.
Steven loved Great Danes, traveling, poker, and gourmet cooking. He was a loyal friend, known for his intelligence, humor, and kind spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joyce McAllister, and is survived by his brothers, Jim and Bill McAllister and by many longtime friends who cherished his loyalty, humor, and generous spirit. He was truly a great friend and was loved by everyone who knew him.
A celebration of Steven’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Valk Residence, 8500 Valk Road, Oakdale, CA.
