Tony Montanez, 46, of Oakdale died Sunday, Dec. 5 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico while on vacation.

A native of Tripoli, Libya, he resided in Modesto for 15 years before moving to Oakdale in 2004. He had lived in California since 1972.

He was a retail manager for Big O Tires, Modesto. He was in the tire business for a total of 30 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, quads, working on engines, traveling, racing, camping and being a dad.

He is survived by his wife Wendy Lynn Montanez of Oakdale; children, Brad Montanez, Whitney Montanez and Cassie Montanez, all of Modesto; stepchildren, Tyler Rose, Cameron Rose and Steven Rose, all of Oakdale; parents, Antonio T. and Lucia G. Montanez of Riverbank; and one brother, Mark Montanez of Sonora.

Services were held on Friday, Dec. 10 at Community Christian Reformed Church, Oakdale. Visitation was held. Private inurnment.

Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
