   Vivian Fauria, 85, of Modesto, died Sunday, the 18th of January, 2015 at home, surrounded by her children. 

   Born in Oakland, CA the first of seven children to Richard and Isabel Boersig.  She was preceded in death by Ray, her husband of 43 years, and sister Joan Sickenger.

   Vivian is survived by children Greg Fauria, Karen and Dan Blythe, Claudia and Bill Montey, Martin and Ceci Fauria, Matt and Sylvia Fauria, John and Lorraine Fauria; grandchildren Sarah Stampflee and Erin Blythe, Sean and Andrea Montey, David, Adam, and Vincent Fauria, Bianca Autry and Isabella Fauria, Stephanie and Domenic Fauria; great grandchildren Allie, Sean, and Emmi Stampflee, Charley and Nate Montey, Damien and Devin Mosqueda; sisters Claudia Rose, Shirley Cosca, Pat Stauber, Sue Murphy, and brother Mike Boersig;

   Vivian was proud of the family that she raised with her husband Ray. She was a graduate of Holy Names College and worked for the American Cancer Society and as a social worker for Alameda and Stanislaus counties.  She was an active member of the Riverbank Historical Society and the Riverbank Christian Food Bank.  She served on numerous boards and committees including the Stanislaus County Housing Authority, Bicentennial Celebration, and the Women of Action.   She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, reading, and traveling.  Since her husband’s death in 1995, Vivian has overseen and funded the Ray Fauria Memorial Scholarship for deserving students at Riverbank High School.

   A Rosary will be held January 28th at 6 pm, at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Riverbank.  A funeral Mass, also at St. Frances of Rome, will be the following day, January 29th beginning at 11 o’clock.

   Interment will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on January 30th at 11 o’clock.
