William Robert 'Bob' Coon, 89, died Monday, Nov. 15.

He lived all of his life in Riverbank.

He graduated from Oakdale High School where he played varsity football and played violin in the orchestra.

Mr. Coon served in the Seabees in World War II.

He was a paperboy for the Modesto Bee. He worked on the Santa Fe Railroad. He was a barber in Riverbank for 60 years, cutting the hair of many generations.

He was a volunteer fireman for the City of Riverbank, a member of the Riverbank Masonic Lodge, and was past president of the Riverbank Lions Club.

He is survived by his second wife, Pat; daughters, Carolyn (Coon) Avila, Judy (Coon) Riise, Roberta (Coon) Humphrey, Robert W. Coon; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be held at the San Joaquin National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be sent in his memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 406 W. 34th St., Kansas City, Missouri 64111.
