A longtime spa and beauty shop operator, who brought her successful service to an historic downtown business location several years ago, celebrated her 22nd Open House there this past week.

The day-long celebration, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 brought out music, food and of course, product demonstrations for present as well as future patrons of Vena’s Secrets, owned by Vena Hudgins. The spa and shop is at 3220 Santa Fe in downtown Riverbank, in a building constructed early in the 1900s, sharing the building with two other businesses.

Longtime customers and those just curious were invited to drop in, look around and even try out some of the products the shop offers. And they were able to sample different beauty treatments, the products that go along with them, as well as enjoying music and food.

Hudgins said that, even though it is a lot of work to put on the event, it is a lot of fun as well. And then there are the many friends and customers she gets to visit with during the day-long festivities. She regards it as an unofficial ‘kick-off’ for the holiday season, with an opportunity to decorate everywhere in her shop.
