The last Saturday in April is fast approaching and there are plenty of opportunities for getting involved in a little community service work on that day.
Both Oakdale and Riverbank will be taking part in the ‘Love’ events on Saturday, April 25 with Love Oakdale and Love Riverbank both on the schedule.
There are websites for each community; residents can peruse the various projects available if they want to join the effort.
Some projects are already filled, others need more volunteers and they can range from everything such as doing yard work, interacting with senior citizens, tree planting, painting and more.
Visit loveriverbank.com to learn more about the opportunities available in the City of Action. Last year, said officials, more than 300 volunteers took part and were involved in more than a dozen projects.
In Oakdale, there are a variety of projects planned as well, including work to be done at schools, for non-profit organizations, making cards for area senior citizens, freshening up the garden area at the Center for Human Serves on West F Street and much more. Volunteers are welcome to sign up for a project, and team leaders will be on hand April 25 to guide the various efforts.
More information is available about the projects and the event itself by visiting loveoakdale.com.
Both cities are part of the larger Love Stanislaus County initiative.
