Work continues on the new Panera Bread outlet that is being built in the Crossroads Shopping Center.

Last week, finishing touches were put on the ground work surrounding the building that is going up next to SaveMart Supermarket on the west end of the center, next to Oakdale Road.

Construction officials say they expect to turn over the facility to its owners in June. It is being built by the same contractor that built the Chipotle further down Oakdale in the center, nearer Claribel Road.

It also had been said that the building will feature a drive-through window, in addition to plenty of parking. It will also feature a self-serve yogurt shop, called Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt.

According to the yogurt business website, “You pick the flavors, you pick the toppings – it’s as simple as mix, weigh and pay!”

The website lists 39 other locations, mostly in Southern California, with the closest in Folsom.
