Riverbank residents are reminded the 41st Christmas Parade will wind its way through the newly remodeled downtown this Saturday, Dec. 5 beginning at 10 a.m.

For the same morning, the city has arranged an arts and crafts fair at the Community Center where more than 30 vendors will offer items suitable for Christmas gifts. This event will run from 9 a. m. until 2 p.m.

Floats, classic autos, marching bands, horses, Shriners clowns, walking groups and, of course, Santa Claus will entertain the crowd along the parade route, said parade chairperson and announcer Scott Pettit.

The parade will begin at Fifth and Santa Fe streets, proceed west on Santa Fe to Second Street then turn left on Stanislaus to return to the Community Center. Judging will be at Santa Fe and Third streets.

At 9 a.m. Pettit will conduct a "Name That Tune" contest at the judging booth at Santa Fe and Third streets. Everyone is invited to participate and tunes will be selected for all ages with prizes to be won for every correct guess.

For more information about the parade and tune contest, call Pettit at (209) 480-2271.
