Members of the Riverbank Parks & Recreation Department were recognized at the recent city council meeting as Mayor Rachel Hernandez and the council proclaimed July as Parks & Recreation Month. Not all the staff was able to attend the meeting, as that night was also the Tuesday Night Market, an event co-sponsored by the department. The mayor and council stand at the back of the group. In the citation, the mayor encouraged all residents “to celebrate by visiting our local parks, participating in recreational programs, and attending special events that showcase the dedication of our parks and recreation professionals, managers, and staff.”
