Changes for park goers at Riverbank’s Jacob Myers Park go into effect this weekend. On Saturday, April 3 the city resumes charging a parking fee on weekends at the park. It’s necessary to prevent overcrowding the facilities and overloading the parking area. Effective Thursday, April 1, parking, and access to the river levees and beaches on Rive Cove Drive, especially directly across the river from the park, is prohibited. A fence blocking access is planned, but, as of last weekend, the city has posted an electric sign there. Violators will be fined, according to city officials.
