Police Seek Suspect In Robbery Case

A Riverbank resident who is accused of entering his ex-girlfriend's home late at night and forcibly taking money from her is wanted by the police on suspicion of robbery and domestic violence.

The 37-year-old man broke into the woman's trailer in the 5900 block of Newbrook Drive about 12:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 assaulted her and took cash from her pants pocket, according to the sheriff's department report.

He caused visible injuries and she called the police but he had left by the time they arrived.

Another case, listed as a robbery alarm, brought deputies to the Chevron gas station at Oakdale and Patterson roads at 10:58 p.m. on Jan. 7. But the alarm proved to be false and due to an equipment malfunction.
