Despite serious rain last week, progress continued on the mural depicting the former Del Rio Theatre in downtown Riverbank. This week, ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, it was officially completed. As noted on the wall, the theatre was opened in April of 1947, and was demolished last summer. The mural is located on the south wall of the two-story bank and apartment building that fronts on Santa Fe Street at Third. It’s another in a long line of Riverbank murals painted by local artist Alexandra Riddle. The Historical Society plans an official ‘unveiling’ at the end of January.
