Public Survey Will Help Redesign Public Transit
Transit Stan

The Stanislaus Regional Transit Authority (StanRTA) is conducting an online survey as part of the community outreach component to The S Vision 2032 planning effort that compares existing transit service to what is actually needed and desired in Stanislaus County. The survey is open to all community members through June 10, 2022 at www.TheSVision2032Survey.com. Survey participants will be entered into a drawing to win one of 20 gift cards.

Anyone residing in Stanislaus County can participate in the survey which is provided in English and Spanish. Survey participants do not need to be transit riders. In fact, some questions are specifically for non-riders to help determine how to expand transit services to more residents. Current riders of The S fixed-route, commuter, and demand-response services will be able to provide suggestions for improvements to the system. Individuals without internet access can also call 209-527-4900 and ask a customer service representative for assistance completing the survey.

“This survey is vital for gathering input and ideas from the community about how they want transit to work,” said Adam Barth, StanRTA CEO. “Survey results will be used to develop a ten-year transit plan that will reshape how The S looks.”

Additional online and in-person events will take place after the survey closes on June 10 to further engage the public in helping to shape the future of transit in Stanislaus County. Interested individuals can sign up for updates and meeting notices at www.TheSVision2032.com.

To encourage residents to take the survey, StanRTA is giving away a series of gift cards to participants via a random drawing. The gift cards will be distributed after the survey closes.

StanRTA began the COA process last fall with the development of an Existing Conditions Report. The purpose of this report was to document existing service characteristics and performance for the former Modesto Area Express (MAX) and Stanislaus Regional Transit (StaRT) systems. The report is available for review at www.TheSVision2032.com.

StanRTA was formed in 2021 through the consolidation of Modesto Area Express and Stanislaus Regional Transit and is the provider of local and regional public transit in Stanislaus County. StanRTA operates fixed-route, demand-response, and commuter services seven days a week. For more information, visit www.stanrta.org or call 209-527-4900.
