This past Sunday, Aug. 15, St. Frances of Rome Church in Riverbank hosted a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic and free Rapid Testing. They will have more clinics at the church including another Rapid Testing event this Sunday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Individuals did not need an appointment to receive the Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccinations at the church. They also did rapid testing for COVID with results received in approximately 20 minutes.

“I think it went very well,” stated Father Misael Avila.

Organizers noted that there were 149 vaccines given during the clinic. They tested 124 people and reported that 12 of the tests came back positive.

There are plans to hold more rapid testing events at the parish on Sept. 12 and Oct. 10 as well as another vaccination clinic slated for Sept. 5.
