Riverbank High School Drama presents “Hammered: A Thor & Loki Play” by Christian Borle, based on the Marvel Comics by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber and Jack Kirby. The play is directed by John Thiel and Zachary Brown and will be performed at the Riverbank High School Black Box Theater this weekend.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and will be sold at the door before the performances on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.

The RHS Drama program will launch its 2022/2023 season with this play featuring the world and characters of Marvel’s Thor. An aging Thor at the end of his life remembers his teenage days: Thor struggles with the stress of final exams and his brother Loki finds himself under a different sort of pressure. Neither are beneath pranks in the endless competition for their parents’ favor. But underneath all the mischief and thunder, these brothers discover a bond that will last millennia.

This 50-minute play is suitable for audiences ages 12 and up and features performances, costumes, scenery, props, and lighting and sound design created by students of Riverbank High School, Adelante High School, and Cardozo Middle School.
