Ten candidates for the Winter Homecoming King and Queen were announced in a student rally at Riverbank High School on Friday that also featured a fashion show with some suggestions for dressing up this week.

The 10 chosen by student vote to compete for the title were Jerry Albor, Alysha Borges, Zack Gonzales, Ivan Manriquez, Karly Martinez, Monique Norat, Tempest Robertson, Eddie Sanchez, Lacy Vernon and Mariella Vigil.

The Homecoming King will be named at a dodge ball game on Thursday evening, Feb. 3 and the Homecoming Queen announced during halftime of the Friday varsity boys basketball game when the winner of the class competition and the Spirit Bear award will also be announced.

Meanwhile, students plan to dress each day this week on a different theme and gather for lunchtime games and competitions.

Costumes were Goth on Monday and "sporty" on Tuesday. They are expected to be formal business attire today and follow a super hero theme ranging from Spiderman to Batman and Captain Marvel on Thursday. Friday will be the traditional school spirit day with colors of maroon and silver worn by students.
