The month of January wrapped up with a robbery at gunpoint, burglary, collisions and more for Riverbank deputies in the City of Action.

On Sunday, Jan. 30 at 3 a.m., deputies responded to the Stop and Save on Atchison Street for a robbery. An unknown subject robbed the store at gunpoint and took an undisclosed amount of money. The investigation has been turned over to detectives.

At 11 p.m. on Sunday, deputies arrested a 30-year-old man for DUI near Roselle and Minniear avenues.

On Saturday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a residential burglary in the 2000 block of San Juan Avenue. The victim returned home to find his house hand been broken into.

At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, deputies responded to the report of an accident with injuries at the intersection of Claus and Claribel Roads. A vehicle stopped for a goat in the roadway and was struck by two cars. The goat was not injured.

Deputies responded to a fight at the River View Garden Apartments on Saturday at 8:40 p.m. when a female subject called to report that a man identified as Joseph Boatman, 30, spit in her face and fled. Deputies located Boatman hiding near the movie theater. Boatman was found to have an illegal dagger in his pocket and on felony PRCS (Post Release Community Supervision) for firearms. Boatman’s PRCS was revoked, and he was booked at county jail.

On Friday, Jan. 28 at 1:40 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a vehicle collision with no injuries at the intersection of Claribel and Oakdale roads.

On Thursday, Jan. 27 at 7 a.m., deputies responded to the report of child porn distribution.

At 7:40 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a hit and run vehicle collision at the intersection of Claribel and Oakdale roads.

Deputies stopped Joseph Boatman, 30, in the 2700 block of Topeka Street on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. as he was on searchable probation. During a compliance search a methamphetamine pipe was found on his person. Boatman was issued a citation for the violation.

On Tuesday, Jan. 25, RPS detectives arrested Jose Avalos, 25, for a stabbing that took place on Jan. 22.

On Monday, Jan. 24 at approximately 1 a.m., deputies contacted a 21-year-old man who was walking behind the Save Mart. Upon contact he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited and released.

Also on Monday at approximately 8 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a subject going door to door harassing residents in the 3700 block of California Avenue. Deputies contacted a woman who was found to be intoxicated; she was arrested and transported to the county jail.
