During the early morning hours on Saturday, Oct. 23, deputies stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation near Kentucky Avenue and Eighth Street. The driver, identified as Joshua Deckhard, 39, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and for being a felon in possession of an illegal handgun.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Preakness Drive for a dispute. A 20-year-old was subsequently arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies arrested a 21-year-old man for violation of a restraining order on Friday, Oct. 22 in the afternoon.

During the evening on Friday, deputies investigated a hit and run collision near Roselle Avenue and Patterson Road where a cyclist was sideswiped by the mirror of a passing motorist. The victim received minor injuries, the investigation is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to the report of a male passed out in the 6400 block of Third Street during the morning on Thursday, Oct. 21. The 37-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.

During the evening on Thursday, deputies located a 42-year-old man in the 6000 block of Terminal Avenue. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

On Monday, Oct. 18 in the late morning, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle accident which was blocking the roadway. Deputies responded to Patterson Road and Jackson Avenue and assisted at the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to a major injury accident at the intersection of Atchison Street and Third Street at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday. The roadway was cleared of the two involved vehicles and the injured subjects were transported.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to a person who had fallen asleep behind the wheel at an intersection. The reporting party followed the subject for several blocks. Deputies located the subject on Alton Court, where he had collided with a parked vehicle and then fled the area. Witnesses directed deputies to the vehicle’s location. A 25-year-old man was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of narcotics and hit and run. He was transported and booked without incident.
