Keeping up a hectic pace, deputies with the Riverbank Police Services responded to 552 calls during the past two weeks. Listed are some details from a few of those calls.
On Monday, Nov. 22 at approximately 8:45a.m., deputies were dispatched to a hit and run collision in the 2800 block of Jebediah Way that occurred sometime last week. The reporting party stated his dog was struck by a neighbor’s vehicle and is now reporting it. This investigation is ongoing.
Just after 9:30 a.m. this past Monday, deputies were dispatched to a dispute in the 5800 block of Engstrom Drive. Following an investigation, a woman was arrested for vandalism. She was transported and booked at the county jail without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to a subject who was drunk in public at the Farmer Boys establishment on Monday just before noon. Upon arrival, they contacted a 40-year-old man who was intoxicated to the point where he could not take care of himself. He was arrested and transported without incident.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious person who was parked on the lawn at the Community Center. Upon arrival, they contacted a 39-year-old man, who was found to be in possession of an illegal dirk/dagger and was arrested and booked without incident.
At around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17, deputies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Ward Avenue on a hit and run accident. Deputies identified a possible suspect and obtained video surveillance confirming the suspect. The investigation is still ongoing.
On Wednesday at approximately 3:20 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Patterson Road. Deputies assisted with the name exchange and cleared the roadway for regular traffic flow.
Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Estelle Road and Patterson Road on a vehicle accident on Wednesday just after 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, deputies concluded there were no injuries and assisted with a name exchange and cleared the roadway.
During the early morning hours on Tuesday, Nov. 16, deputies were dispatched to a report of a front door kicked in, possible commercial burglary, at 3543 Atchison Street, L’Gusto Restaurant. Upon arrival it was discovered that suspect/suspects had kicked the front door of the business in and stole several items. The investigation is still ongoing.
Just after 1 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 3800 block of California Avenue. While on scene, another call came in where the same vehicle had collided into a power pole at Arizona Avenue and Eighth Street. Deputies immediately responded and took the driver, who appeared to be trying to flee again, into custody. The driver was determined to be a juvenile and was later cited and released to his parents. There were no injuries associated with the two collisions.
At approximately 3 p.m. on Monday, deputies were dispatched to the area of First Street and Orange Avenue on a vehicle accident with injuries. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted those involved.
Deputies were dispatched to the 5800 block of Chancellor Way on a vehicle accident with a parked vehicle on Monday at approximately 6:30 p.m. When deputies arrived on scene, it was discovered that the driver of the vehicle had fled the area, but their passenger was still present. Later in the night, the driver turned himself in. He was cited for the hit and run violation.
