Deputies on patrol in the Riverbank area have had a number of calls for service including thefts and disturbances.

On Sunday, Nov. 28 at 12:04 p.m. deputies were dispatched to Home Depot due to the report of a shoplifter. After conducting their investigation, deputies arrested a 47-year-old man and booked him into the Public Safety Center for petty theft and two additional warrants.

Deputies observed a driver doing burn outs in the area of Jackson Avenue and Topeka Street on Sunday at 4:04 p.m. The 19-year-old was contacted and issued a citation for reckless driving.

On Saturday, Nov. 27 at 12 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a petty theft at Famous Footwear. A black female adult in her 30s, wearing black crocs, entered the store, grabbed a pair of shoes, and fled on foot, eastbound, to an unknown location.

At 1 a.m. on Saturday, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Patterson Road and Oakdale Road. Deputies observed brass knuckles in plain view on the backseat. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 31-year-old man, admitted to purchasing the brass knuckles and police baton online. He was booked in county jail for possession of the aforementioned contraband.

On Friday, Nov. 26 at 12:40 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a vehicle hit and run, property damage only, in the 2900 block of South Rose Brook Drive. The collision was determined to have occurred overnight and a report was taken.

Deputies responded to the report of fireworks found in the 3100 block of High Street on Friday afternoon at 3:15 p.m. A possible unexploded commercial firework was located on the reporting party’s front lawn. The mortar was transported and booked for destruction.

At 6:10 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to the report of a disturbance in the 2800 block of Don Rafael Avenue. After the investigation was concluded, it was determined no crime occurred and an incident report was taken.

On Thursday, Nov. 25 at 4 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a fight in the 3600 block of Kansas Avenue. After the investigation was concluded, a 42-year-old woman was booked at the county jail for misdemeanor domestic violence.

Deputies responded to Oak Valley Hospital for a report of a battery that occurred in front of an unknown address on Arizona Avenue on Thursday at 9:15 a.m.

At 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a fight in the 2500 block of Dobbins Lane. No crime was found to have been committed.

On Wednesday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m., deputies responded to the report of a theft by false pretenses. The subject received a call advising he had won an iPad but had to pay for shipping and taxes. The victim shipped a gift card for $150 to the suspect.

Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle theft and fraud on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The victim sold his vehicle to the suspect for a personal check. The check was later found to be fraudulent. Deputies located the vehicle driving through town on Thursday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. A second victim had been sold the vehicle fraudulently. The vehicle was returned to the owner. A suspect has been identified and the investigation is still ongoing.

At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to Ulta for the report of a grand theft. A Hispanic male adult and a Hispanic female adult walked into the store, grabbed $1,617 worth of merchandise, exited without paying, got into a vehicle, and fled westbound.

On Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., deputies received a late reported residential burglary from the 3600 block of Arizona Avenue. The victim reported he’s been renovating the residence, and no one currently resides there. On Nov. 4, the victim locked and secured the residence. On Nov. 6, the victim returned to the residence and found a suspect had broken in through the rear door and stolen $4,300 worth of tools.

At 10:05 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies responded to the report of a hit and run, property damage only, vehicle collision, in the drive thru of McDonalds.

On Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 2:30 a.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Eighth Street and Texas Avenue. The driver was found to be unlicensed and in possession of a methamphetamine pipe. He was cited for the violations and his vehicle was towed.

Deputies responded to the report of a vehicle burglary at the trucking yard at Claus Road and Claribel Road on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. The victim reported he parked his semi-truck at the yard for several days. He returned and found it unlocked and approximately $450 worth of property missing.
