The Riverbank City Council recently authorized the repair and restoration of the roundabout at the intersection of Squire Wells Way and Heartland Drive, just north of the Crossroads Shopping Center. The council voted to put up the $26,700 necessary for the project from the General Fund Reserve. Damage to the roundabout was caused by two separate vehicle accidents in 2021, according to the city report. Since that time, officials say they’ve be in discussions with two different insurance agencies to cover the costs of repair; they expect the funds to be replenished when the city is reimbursed.
