This weekend will see a couple of fun events put on in the City of Action.

Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a 'Board Blast' on Saturday Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

After the conclusion of that event, a 'Teen Fest' will be put on at the city's teen center, running from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

First, skateboarders of all ages will be able to show their boarding skills in the AM JAM format event at the skatepark on Saturday. There will be competition in four age divisions (9 and under, 10 to 12, 13 to 15 and 16 and older). All skaters will be put in groups and show their stuff for four minutes; winners will advance to the next round. Helmets must be worn by all participants. The fee for this is $10 for pre-registration and $20 on the day of the event. Register at 6707 Third St., in the Recreation Office.

The Teen Fest will be hosted at the Santa Fe Street Teen Center, and teens are invited to join in for an afternoon of fun. Enjoy games of chance and skill. There will be a wide variety of contests, food and more. This free event is open to teenagers only.
