Service Club Members Grill Up Tasty Lunch

Representatives from five Lions Clubs in Stanislaus County spent a few hours in service on Friday.

The Lions set up on site and went to work barbequing at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, providing over 1,000 meals to hospital personnel. The grilling day was May 8 and the club members served food from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“They said they want to extend some love and gratitude to the hardworking men and women in the healthcare field,” said Krista Deans, Communications Manager, Northern California Group Tenet Healthcare. “The timing couldn’t be more perfect for this incredibly generous offer.”

Nurses Week was observed May 6 through 12 and Hospital Week runs May 10 through 16.

Participating Lions Club included Modesto 500 Lions Club, Modesto Sunset Lions, Hughson Lions Club, Ceres Lions Club and Oakdale Lions Club.

Doctors Medical Center is at 1441 Florida Ave., in Modesto and the grill station and food area was set up outside near the ambulance bays and parking structure.
