Graduating students at Riverbank High School were recognized at a Senior Shout Out rally at the end of the school day last Friday, May 17 by administrators and representatives from colleges, trade schools and military organizations.

The class was introduced to the rest of the student body as it entered the Ray Fauria Memorial Gymnasium, moving to the south end bleachers, designated the ‘Bruins Den.’

All then were treated to a slide program showing off photos indicating where some of the seniors will be going to school next year. The high school band also performed.

To end the afternoon, Dr. Sean Richey, RHS Principal, called out the names of each senior, indicating what their future plans were.

Those attending a higher education facility, along with vocational facilities, were invited to join representatives of their institutions scattered about the floor of the gym to sign commitment papers.

In addition to colleges and schools, both a Navy and a Marine Corps recruiter were present to recognize some students’ choices to serve their country while learning a trade.

After the event, students headed home, having participated in their last rally of the 2018-19 school year.

Seniors, on the other hand, had some additional activities scheduled for Friday. Many returned at 6 p.m. that evening to take part in the traditional Senior Sunset celebration.
