Residents will have an opportunity to safely dispose of hazardous household materials, electronic waste and used tires during the Spring Household Hazardous Waste, E-Waste and Tire Recycling Day on Saturday, March 14.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon, or until capacity is reached, at the Public Services Corporation Yard, 455 S. Fifth St., Oakdale. Participants are asked to enter on J Street.
The collection event will accept a range of household hazardous waste items, including used oil, paint, car batteries, antifreeze and sharps. Electronic waste such as computers, monitors, televisions, keyboards, cables and microwaves will also be accepted.
Officials noted that certain items will not be collected, including light bulbs, ink cartridges, large printers and copiers.
Tire disposal will be limited to passenger and light truck tires only. Rims are acceptable. There is a limit of six tires per household.
The event is hosted in partnership with Stanislaus County, the City of Oakdale, the Greater Valley Conservation Corps and CalRecycle.
