Stanislaus State Students Continue Making Mark

Though classes are online and the Turlock campus of Stanislaus State devoid of students, the Warriors are continuing to showcase a wide variety of talents and achievements.

Following are a few of the headline items making news for the state university, as provided by the Stan State Communications Department.

 

Trio Wins Top Honors

A year’s worth of work and dedication paid off for Stan State senior math majors Andy Ponce, Kohl James and Victoria Morado, who took first place in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Undergraduate category of the CSU Student Research Competition.

 

Nursing Grad Answers Call

Inspired to help patients in the Big Apple, Stan State alumnus Arnold Velasquez traveled to the east coast to help combat COVID-19. In true Warrior fashion, Velasquez said this is what he was called to do and vowed to continue fighting on the frontlines of the pandemic for as long as he is needed.

 

Wells Fargo Gives $30K

Responding to the COIVD-19 crisis and its impact on Stan State students, Wells Fargo has made a $30,000 donation to the Stan State California Faculty Association Campus Cares initiative, to support the Student Emergency Fund and the Food Insecurity Fund, which supports the Warrior Food Pantry.

 

First-Gen Honor Society

Stanislaus State is first on the West Coast and one of 40 universities in the nation to create a Tri-Alpha honor society that supports the academic achievement of first-generation college students.
