The office of Assemblymember Heath Flora recently announced the opening of two summer internship positions available at his district office.
That office is at 578 N. Wilma Ave., Suite B in Ripon.
This is a highly competitive non-paid internship for students currently attending college who reside in the 12th Assembly District of California. Applicants should be prepared to work at least six hours a week and they need to be flexible week-to-week in their schedule. Interns should expect to only work one or two days a week.
In this position, interns will perform various duties assisting the district staff of Assemblyman Heath Flora. A list of some included duties is: data entry, clerical work, attending special events in the district, research, reception duties, writing and various office assistant duties.
Interns in the district office will gain invaluable knowledge and experience in public and government service, legislative affairs and constituent service. Any college student in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or higher) that has an interest in government, politics or leadership is encouraged to apply.
The applicant must be able to travel, at their own expense, to and from the district office in Ripon and/or assigned events inside the district.
Applicants must complete and submit an intern application form. They must also submit a cover letter that is not more than one page and a complete résumé that is not more than one page. In addition, applicants need to send in one letter of recommendation from a Professor and/or Dean. One additional letter of recommendation from any other source will be accepted but is not required. Assemblyman Heath Flora represents the 12th Assembly District, which includes the communities of Denair, Empire, Escalon, Farmington, Hickman, Hughson, Keyes, Lathrop, Linden, Lockeford, Manteca, Modesto, Oakdale, Ripon, Riverbank, Salida, Turlock, Victor, and Waterford.
