SURREAL SCENE
SUNSET

The smoke-filled skies over Riverbank seem to tuck the sun between two cypress trees in the backyard of a home at the western edge of a street here over the weekend. The poor air quality is evident in the deeply reddish color of the skies behind the cypress. The fire ravaged skies of California continue to show evidence of the smoke lingering across the state, where last week, 100-plus degree daytime temperatures collided with the ‘Spare the Air’ unhealthy breathing situation. The fires across the state were caused by what was reported to be some 11,000 lightning strikes.
