According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded to the high school after receiving a report of a threatening note being found in a bathroom. Several deputies and investigators responded to the high school campus in the 6200 block of Claus Road in Riverbank to investigate and as a precautionary measure. The other two campuses were also locked down as a safety measure.
“Many rumors have been circulating by students. As of this time all threats have been unfounded,” the sheriff’s department noted in a posted advisory on its Facebook page at midafternoon Friday. “Please know we are working diligently to investigate any threats and to ensure the safety of our community.”
Motorists were advised to expect traffic delays in the area while the investigation was ongoing and alternate routes around the high school campus were recommended.
