In a contested race for the Riverbank Unified School District Board on Nov. 8, the race was close, with the candidates just a handful of votes apart.

The race in Area 2 – with unofficial results posted by the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters office – saw Katie Wedge holding a slight edge over Delayne Coker, 172 votes to 154. That has Wedge in the lead with 52.76 percent of the vote, Coker with 47.24 percent.

The Riverbank City Council had two seats up for election, in District 1 incumbent Luis Uribe was unopposed and received 466 votes as of Election Day; Leanne Jones Cruz in District 3 was also unopposed and received 610 votes.

The unofficial totals still have to be finalized and certified; the Registrar of Voters has up to 30 days following the election to complete the process.
