Town Hall To Address Flooding, Delta Tunnel Project
Harder town hall

Scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 18, Representative Josh Harder (CA-9) will host an in-person town hall focused on flooding, the Delta Tunnel project, and water issues in the Central Valley. The Town Hall will be hosted, beginning at 6 p.m., in French Camp. Congressman Harder is hosting this event while much of the region recovers from historic flooding and in order to hear community concern as it relates to the Delta Tunnel project. The US Army Corps of Engineers has not scheduled any public, in-person meetings on the project, despite repeated calls to do so from Rep. Harder and the community.

The event will feature Harder as well as water experts from across San Joaquin County. After opening remarks, members of the community will have the opportunity to make their voices heard as it relates to the flooding impacting the community and the Delta Tunnel project. Harder’s office will then pass that feedback on directly to state and federal agencies.

“Washington and Sacramento have ignored our community for decades and the disastrous ramifications of the flooding we’re experiencing right now is a direct result of that lack of attention,” said Rep. Harder. “I’m hosting this town hall to ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to stand up and speak out on the water issues impacting our community, from flooding to the Delta Tunnel to the lack of access to clean water.”

The meeting will be at The Health Plan of San Joaquin, 7751 South Manthey Road, French Camp, in the Community Room. To RSVP for the event, go to:
