crime header

Riverbank Police Services personnel were busy over the past few days with a rental scam, warrant arrests, and possession of marijuana cases, to name a few.

On Sunday evening, Nov. 8, deputies stopped a 31-year-old man as they knew he had a suspended license. The subject was also known to be on searchable probation for drugs. A probation search of his vehicle was completed that revealed evidence he was illegally selling marijuana. The man was arrested for the violation.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 7, deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Seventh Street and Santa Fe. They contacted the driver, a 35-year-old woman, who was found to have active warrants for her arrest. She was taken into custody and booked without incident.

At approximately 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5, a subject reported he was part of a house rental scam and was deprived of $3,700. The subject said he rented a house from an unknown suspect, paid the deposit and first month’s rent, and later realized the home was not his to rent. The investigation is ongoing.
