The early summer weather on Saturday seemed made to order, as organizers and city officials were joined by community members for the Ribbon Cutting of the Jacob Myers Park trail and campground improvements.

The one mile trail, also referred to as the 'loop,' just west of the Bicentennial Grove is the latest addition in the park's transformation.

While addressing the crowd prior to the ribbon cutting, Riverbank Parks Director Sue Fitzpatrick introduced Rickey the Raccoon, another new member of the parks team. During her speech she mentioned the transformation the park grounds have made in the past eight to ten years.

Also sharing sentiments of excitement about the trail completion was Friends of Jacob Myers Park President Scott McRitchie.
