A pair of new retail stores opened for business this past week in the Crossroads West shopping center.

The ribbon cutting was held by the Riverbank Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, Oct. 9, for both HomeGoods and T.J.Maxx, stores that are owned by the same company, TJX Companies, that is named by its stock ticket. The company also owns Marshalls stores and a few others.

The stores are easy to find, they’re side by side right across a driveway from the east end of the Costco store.

Advertised hours for T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods are 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., according to their websites.

HomeGoods sells a wide variety of home furnishings and decor, including furniture, rugs, lighting, cookware, decorative accessories, bedding, and bath essentials, often at prices lower than department stores. They also carry seasonal decor, storage and organizational items, kitchenware, and pet supplies. Because their inventory changes frequently based on opportunistic buying, shoppers can find unique, brand-name items in different styles and materials at every visit, the company indicated.

At the same time, T.J.Maxx sells a wide range of discounted, brand-name merchandise, including men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel and shoes, home decor and housewares, accessories, jewelry, and beauty products. As an off-price retailer, T.J.Maxx provides value by selling surplus, off-season, and end-of-range items from major brands, along with some in-house brands.

A number of new stores are planned for the shopping center, and Hobby Lobby has been announced for a location next door to the T.J.Maxx.
